Clarence Young, Jr. and Ferro Bennett, both, 20, have filed suit against The Flight LLC, doing business as Centennial Hill Bar & Grill, its owner Nicole Bankhead fox and hound and an unidentified company that provided security at the bar, claiming the defendants were negligent or reckless and caused or contributed to them being injured.
Young was shot once and Bennett was shot three times during the multiple shooting that killed three and injured five, Montgomery attorney Michael Strickland, who filed the suit, released. It was the first time they had ever been to the club.
Rapper Glenn Thomas, 22, known as Doe B., and Kimberle Johnson, a 22-year-old Troy University student, were fatally shot in the club in the early the morning hours of Dec. 28. Timnorius Hamilton, 20, died from his injuries on Jan. 3.
Montgomery police have charged Darius Thomas, 25, and Jason McWilliams, 25, both of Montgomery with three counts of capital murder in connection with the shooting. It is believed the suspects had an ongoing dispute with Thomas.
Strickland stated Young and Bennett “quickly became unwarranted shooting victims,” and their lives have been permanently changed. Both have been unable to return to work and are undergoing physical therapy.
